Benefits and Cost of Dental Implant

If you are looking for a solution to replace your missing tooth or teeth, our team highly recommends dental implants. Dental implants are made of three separate components that each work together to replace the entire tooth structure; this includes the post, abutment, and dental crown. The post is the piece that anchors the complete restoration in place, similar to how a tooth root stabilizes the entire tooth. The abutment is a middle piece that firmly secures the post to the dental crown. With all components working together, you’re sure to be delighted by the health, beauty, and function that this appliance brings!

  • Long-lasting solution. Dental implants can last a lifetime with proper care and maintenance. This includes regular brushing and flossing to prevent gum disease or decay of any surrounding teeth. Dental crowns used to restore the implant may need to be replaced between every ten or fifteen years.

  • Prevents bone loss. Because implants replace the tooth and the tooth root, they can prevent bone loss by stimulating the jawbone. With the implant post embedded in the bone tissue, any healthy friction caused by speaking or eating can exercise the supporting bone and promote strength and growth.

  • A healthier smile. Not only do dental implants prevent bone loss, but they also prevent other teeth from shifting into the empty space. When a tooth is lost, the lack of pressure on surrounding teeth may cause them to shift out of alignment, eventually leading to gaps and crowding throughout the entire mouth. Implants prevent this by reserving the space and exerting proper support and pressure on neighboring teeth.

  • Easier speaking, eating, & maintenance. Dental implants require no further steps once they have been placed and healed. Simply eat the foods you love, speak with confidence, and clean your teeth by brushing twice each day and flossing once daily. There are no removable components or extra necessities beyond routine dental visits and an optimal oral cleaning regimen at home.

  • Looks natural. Not only do dental implants feel real, but they look that way too! We can develop a dental crown for the implant that matches the exact shade, shape, and size of your surrounding teeth. It will blend so well you may not even be able to tell the crown apart from other teeth!

  • No-slip security. Dental implants are as secure as a healthy natural tooth, meaning it won’t be going anywhere once it is installed and healed. This allows you to laugh, smile, and speak without fearing the appliance could slip out of place.

Cost Of Dental Implants

Unfortunately, determining the price of dental implants is not a simplistic process. This is due to the many unique factors that determine the planning, preparation, placement, and restoration process. To find out the pricing for your implant procedure, we invite you to schedule a complimentary consultation! We can discuss the procedure with you during this time and determine the following details that affect implant pricing. These are:

  • Current health. The current status of your oral health is an essential factor in determining your need for preliminary treatment. If we discover the presence of gum disease when examining your mouth, we may recommend treatment before proceeding.

  • Number & type of implants needed. This may be determined based on the number of teeth you are missing and the type of implant you choose. We offer our patients single implants, implant-supported bridges, implant-supported dentures, and full arch implants.

  • Bone loss. If you have experienced deterioration of your jawbone following tooth loss, we may need to perform a bone grafting procedure to bring more bone to the implant site. This allows the implant post to be supported sufficiently and properly hold the abutment and crown into position.

  • Extractions. If you currently have a severely decayed or damaged tooth that is beyond repair, it will require extraction. Once extracted, a healing period must be allowed before replacing the tooth with dental implants. If you are already missing a tooth or have already had an extraction, this factor will not be relevant.

Single Implant

A single implant is an implant designed to replace a single tooth. As mentioned above, this implant utilizes an implant post, an abutment, and a dental crown. Once all these pieces are connected, the restoration will function and appear just like a natural tooth, offering many of the same health benefits.

Bridge

Dental bridges supported by implants are a fantastic choice for patients with multiple missing teeth in a sequence. While traditional bridges require healthy natural teeth on either side of the gap to be reshaped and contoured, this type of bridge relies on implants to be held in place. The appliance uses two implants (one on either side of the gap), two abutments, and a custom-made bridge built to slip over the abutments.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures are a phenomenal option, as they allow patients to wear dentures without the fear of them slipping or sliding out of position. Because dentures are typically only secured in place by suction or dental adhesive, they are not as stable or supported in their placement. By installing a series of implants to the dental arch, dentures can be snapped into place with reliable support and easily removed each night.

Full Arch Implants

Full arch implants are installed using the all-on-4 method at our office. We will custom create a prosthetic appliance that replaces every tooth along the top or bottom arch. This method utilizes four implants to secure the entire prosthetic into place, preserving bone and restoring function and appearance to your smile.
